When I reach for it
Five days a week. Long tempos, speed work, easy doubles, 100-mile weeks. I do not think about it, which is the highest compliment I can give a shoe.
What works
- ↑Under nine ounces on a 46.5 mm stack, which should not be possible
- ↑I ran 31 miles in a brand new pair with zero blisters
- ↑The pair I would hand a brand new runner without hesitating
What does not
- ↓It runs out of road somewhere around 5:40 to 6:00 pace
- ↓No plate, so it is a trainer that can race, not a racer
The numbers
My own scores out of 10. Durability is where race shoes always pay the price.
What each pair actually lasts me. Race shoes are consumables. The daily trainer is where the value is.
Price divided by the miles I actually get out of it. A $210 trainer that lasts 390 miles is cheaper per mile than any racer I own.
